D.W. Winnicott’s article, Nothing at the center, inspired the Author to reflect on some clinical-theoretical concepts elaborated upon by the authoritative psychoanalyst. Such concepts were then linked to Ericksonian clinical practice. Then comes a focused comparison of two specifics therapeutic instruments: The Interpretation, in respect to psychoanalytical practice, and the Use of Metaphores, in respect to the Ericksonian practice of hypnosis. Finally comes the description of a clinical case in which the subjects of theoretical treatises within therapeutic practice were developed.
