The paper studies the evolution processes affecting business networks and in specific "network contracts", using the tools and interpretative models developed by scholars of business networks and the results of an empirical research conducted over the past two years on the network contracts. In particular, the paper analyzes the main variables involved in the different stages in which come to life and develop the network contracts and highlights the factors that play a positive role in support of the effective evolution of the same. At the same time it points out the main problems that characterize the different phases of development of network contracts. Finally, some proposals on how to overcome these problems are highlighted.
