The nurse’s shortage is a issue that affects the Italian Health System. It is therefore an imperative for health organizations to outline and activate strategies of human resource management that consider the real needs of nurses to cope with the turnover. A management paradigm that has positive effects in the American context is that of "magnet hospitals", environments capable of attracting and retaining staff with a high welfare organisation. With regard to the difficulty of transferring innovation from a health context totaly different from that Italian, it seems appropriate to make reference to the model of Diffusion of innovation, which can help to understand how we can effectively implement an organizational change.
