The Fornari research utilised the concepts of denial and projection on the enemy to "explain" the war. The Kleinian framework of two defence positions allows both the attack the other as enemy (schizophrenic position) both its own impossibility (depressive position) because of consequent, unavoidable, senses of guilt. This kind of interpretation seems to work in the individual setting through the transferal and counter-transferal elaboration. In the geopolitical perspective these solutions couldn’t work. The Fornari proposal to overcome these difficulties through the hypothesis of "double reference" doesn’t work because its difficulties to produce an appropriate sensemaking. It is possible to propose a new prospective: the desire is threatened by fear to loose the original nostalgy of intrauterine relation. A salvific hypothesis is based on language: through the words you can look for the conflict and build a tale on trauma and create spaces in which could find a more satisfaction in our contemporary world.
