The Inter-American Court of Human Rights has developed standards regarding social rights. Some of these standards have been made explicit in contentious cases where article 26 of the American Convention on Human Rights was allegedly violated. Others standards have been elaborated through its advisory jurisdiction. Even though the Court has not yet declared the violation of article 26 of the American Convention, it has strengthened the protection of social rights.
