Research interest concerning the impact of context on organizational behaviour has been renewed over the past years. With the present overview we aim at presenting the main studies about the context, its definitions, the distinctive faces of the concept and its effects on organizational behaviour. In addition to emphasize the importance of the context, we underline the difficulties in defining, measuring and generalizing it, especially in a psychological perspective from which we study this variable. Finally we introduce the concept of perceptions of context and its operationalization in Italy.
