Today, in systemic therapy, two principles still slow down systemists analysis about the impact of social mix in relationships between partner of different cultural origins. First of all, a couple is a unique combination and the cultural differences between the two partner is a peculiarity among others. Secondly, a cultural difference exists in all couples since both partner bring their own original family culture. Little is still known about the impact of this social mix, considered as a complex mixture of values and behavioural rules brought about by culture in the making-up of a couple and its evolution. Thanks to two clinical examples, we will focus on the influence of culture seen on a functional basis, as well as on the screen-role which influences the relationship between a man and a woman forming a couple.
