The Management Standards approach (HSE) is one that can be used for the psychosocial risk management, required by the Italian law. Essentially it is build on two elements: the definition of standards for the psychosocial factors; the Indicator Tool (IT) questionnaire, that evaluate the performance of a firm against the standards. The aim of this study is to briefly present the approach in the Italian context, and to propose a first Italian version of the IT, evaluating its factorial structure and psychometric properties. The 35-item questionnaire was administered to 1298 employees of 45 firms. Results showed a factorial structure similar to the English version and good scale reliabilities, even if some critical points emerged, that are discussed.
