The dynamics of organised crime in Northern Italy can be seen in terms of a reduction in the capacities of governances systems in a neoliberal context. Effects are produced in the context of a transformation of the state and of public institutions, which suggest that further gaps are opening for criminal organisations to make their way, amongst other things, into local planning governance.
