Hostages/guests/hostile, the one and the other. We live in a habit, as defined by William James, and the couple is a habit that includes us, sustains us and can guarantee recognition; often, however, it does not leave opportunities for change, if not in the face of conflict, high investment of reflection, surplus or way out. The couple is proposed as a possible way of processing the primary risk that every relationship involves and, in fact, manage to be. Similarly the couple failed to accommodate individual anxieties, creates hostility and often takes hostage individuals, limiting the possibilities of identification. Since there is anagnorisis, recognition according to Aristotle, and empathy in the relational space of couple, the relation allows to recognize or get lost in the between translation. The couple in turn has this powerful and risky at the same time: can neutralize recognition reifying the relationship, while feed and protect the identification. Protects it too?
