FrancoAngeli is member of Publishers International Linking Association, Inc (PILA), a not-for-profit association which run the CrossRef service enabling links to and from online scholarly content.
The article tries to offer a critical approach on the issue of remote computer searches. To this end, after having scrutinized the solutions proposed by the European union and some of its member states, it analyses the choices made by Italian institutions. The final aim is to show that, waiting for an intervention of the Italian legislator, the latest case law of the Italian Court Cassation have shown a low-profile attitude toward fundamental human rights
