The article focuses on the economic and social features of the Marche region after the three recent crisis: the Global Financial Crisis of the 2008, the 2016 earthquake and the Covid-19 pandemic. In particular, it seems that during its apogee (between the 1980s and 1990s) as well as during the resilience phase (the years between the two centuries), a lack of critical awareness was deploying: the region’s economic and social development had been achieved thanks to unique circumstances. Against this backdrop, the article analyses six critical points to provide an overview about the present situation of the region: the productive decline; the occupational decline; the socio-economic crisis in the Apennines in the aftermath of the earthquake; the ethical decline; the decline of the society; the decline of the community.

Keywords: Marche Region; Socio-economic development; Global Financial crisis; Earthquake; Covid-19.
