Vierwindenhuis. Italian radical architecture for social housing in the Netherlands Vierwindenhuis, the House of the Four Winds, is a collective residence located in Amsterdam’s Eastern Docklands. The House owes its existence to the Dutch philosopher Fons Elders and was designed in eighties of the last century by Gian Piero Frassinelli, a member of the radical group Superstudio. Its architecture, based on an original interpretation of the cosmological order, offers more than a reflection of the Dutch care, for small-scale, here related to the dimension of social building.

Keywords: social housing; radical architecture; Amsterdam; Superstudio; urban regeneration
