All’interno di un quadro nazionale caratterizzato da forti disparità territoriali, la Toscana resta un rilevante polo di attrazione per la mobilità studentesca, grazie alla concentrazione sul proprio territorio di un’offerta formativa universitaria ampia e articolata e alle politiche di sostegno messe in atto dal governo regionale per sostenere l’accesso alla formazione universitaria. Questo volume intende ricostruire il quadro della mobilità degli studenti per poterlo utilizzare anche nella ridefinizione degli interventi a supporto della formazione universitaria.

INVALSI had the task of preparing and carrying out periodic and systematic checks on the learning outcomes of Italian students (the INVALSI national tests), and of periodically managing Italian participation in international surveys: we hope that the works collected in the volume are the basis for new reflections and a solid example of how the data released by INVALSI allow for quality research, whose goal has always been to improve students’ skills.

Data are precious resources and as such an asset of the community. The INVALSI Statistical Service’s databases allow researchers and teachers to investigate in depth the characteristics of students, schools and society. As a Statistical Service we hope that the reading of the volume confirms what has been written on the importance of data and their use, which will allow an ever-growing audience to enrich their knowledge on the subject of education.

A partire dai risultati di un’indagine empirica realizzata presso l’Università di Pisa, il volume indaga i processi di strutturazione delle traiettorie personali e professionali di un campione di giovani laureati espatriati, identificando i principali fattori di spinta all’emigrazione, le strategie e i modelli della loro integrazione all’estero, le reti di collegamento intrattenute con i territori e le comunità di origine, le loro aspirazioni future.
