The volume challenges the topic of the hotels energy refurbishment as a flywheel for the upgrade of the building stock in the Mediterranean countries, focusing on the regions of Veneto (Italy) and Central Macedonia (Greece). The hotels energy refurbishment topic was the pretext to widen the interest towards the crucial role of architectural design of touristic facilities in the Mediterranean region. The project studied new touristic models to face the actual climatic and energetic crisis.

Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are technological domains that closely interact with space at architectural and urban scale in the broader ambits of cultural heritage and innovative design. The growing interest is perceivable in many fields of knowledge, supported by the rapid development and advancement of theory and application, software and devices. This book collects 66 papers and identify eight lines of research that may guide future developments.

Il volume raccoglie studi che indagano sul ruolo delle linee quale matrice formale dell’architettura e del design. Considerando la geometria al centro sia del processo creativo della progettazione che della concretizzazione della forma nella costruzione vera e propria, lo studio della geometria solida delinea un settore di ricerca attualmente emergente al confine tra geometria applicata e architettura. La geometria costruttiva contemporanea trova nella architectural geometry un grande potenziale che dimostra come le conoscenze geometriche possano essere alla base di un uso creativo del digitale.
