What rôle can be attributed to the institution of Judicial Pardon in the light of the reform of juvenile proceedings? A statistical survey of nearly 2,800 juveniles who made use of this measure between 1990 and 1997 at the Milan Juvenile Court tries to answer this question. The personal and judicial position of the juveniles in question is evaluated, in particular of cases of recidivism subsequent to a decision of Judicial Pardon, and an attempt is thus made to quantify the risk of conceding this measure to certain categories of juveniles. The result is a picture of Judicial Pardon as a measure that still has a possible range of application, as long as it is conceded within the limits described by this survey, among others.
