This essay presents, in critical terms, some important aspects of the "Evaluation Plan of the 2007-2013 Regional Comprehensive Policy" of the Sardinian regional administration (EP). The general methodological approach of the EP is analyzed and the role played by the key-actors is discussed with reference to the implementation process. Moreover, the methodology proposed for one of the evaluative researches of the EP is described. This research is about the policies adopted and implemented by the regional administration of Sardinia to cope with school dispersion. Furthermore, some issues concerning the implementation of the EP are discussed, related to intrinsic factors which characterize the assessment of the policies of the Sardinian regional administration. Finally, a very interesting evaluative experience is analyzed, that is Strategic environmental assessment (SEA) of the masterplans of the Sardinian cities included in the coastal landscape areas of the Regional landscape plan (RLP). The coastal cities have to make their masterplans consistent with the implementation code of the RLP. The SEA procedure established by the regional administration of Sardinia does provide many important indications for developing the evaluative researches of the EP.
