The main aim of this study is to check the persistence of relational models marked by a traditional division of gender roles in the reproductive work. 947 participants (53.5% women) belonging to different age groups were asked to fill out a questionnaire aimed to detecting the division of housework inparticipant’s description of both their everyday life and in their believed ideal cohabitation. The results reveal, in both concrete and ideal levels, a strong gender typization of household tasks. The stability of data accross sub-samples denotes a substantial sharing of role expectations, which are conceived as profoundly asymmetrical, among all participants: men and women, young people and adults.
