In considering the relationship between structure and history in psychoanalysis, we privilege a close examination of the concepts involved. Our conclusion is that the polysemy of the concept of structure is very large and that outside the field of structuralism, it can be replaced by other concepts, such as system, instance, etc. The study of history leads us to distinguish different "temporalities" in human psyche, and in this paper we try to analyze some of them. The article ends with an updating of the models we use in clinical practice.
