The study explored the possibility to design a typology of neuro-electric brain activity that could explain differences in personality and ability. Power and coherence measures in 7 individually determined frequency bands of 331 respondents were entered into several factorial runs yielding to an 8 factor solution. The so obtained Bartlett factor score coefficients served as input variables for a cluster analysis. This analysis revealed a 3 cluster solution as optimal. The two most numerous clusters of C1 and C2 differed with respect to the level of power values; more complex was the pattern of power and coherence values for cluster C3. The three clusters obtained also differed with respect to ability and personality variables. The differences were observed in the patterns of personality and ability factors, and less in a single factor. These patterns were more homogeneous for personality factors and more heterogeneous for the general ability as well as emotional intelligence factors.
