The paper describe the experience of a pilot project of the Liguria Region on the "creditization" and the assessment of learning outcomes in the paths of "Istruzione e Formazione Tecnica Superiore" (IFTS). This experimentation has led to discussions with various stakeholders in school education, vocational training and enterprise, the concept of competence and educational credit and, above all, how to connect them in a process of recognition and evaluation. The contents and methods have been developed in a participatory way and this choice has led to the questioning of the way until then had operated the various subjects and the different meanings attributed to the various concepts involved. In an experimental perspective the actors dealt with some of the main problems related to the construction and implementation of a methodology for assessment and recognition of competences and credits, and in this way they found convergent definitions that allowed us to share a model and a system, resulting of a real reframing of the processes activated. The joint work aimed at sharing of models and methods has produced a consensus on the operational plan, that generated a common vocabulary and syntax and a reconsideration of the implicit conceptualizations that operators implied before.
