In many European countries and mainly in Germany, "in between use" practices, are becoming more and more common. They are temporary re-uses of urban spaces. These inteventions, though temporary, are able to produce medium and long term effects on both urban fabric and social organization. The many Berlin "in between use" practices open new ways and scenarios to city planning and design. Their major effect is in empowering citizens’ participation to city life.
