This article studies online forums as interfaces where participants build their own identity; to do so it presents a discoursive analysis of the posts made by Argentinian emigrants on 2002. We propose a brief genealogy of forums related to particular modes of online socializing, in order to identify the characteristics of identity elaborated in online interfaces. Then, we will carry out a discourse analysis of the posts published in the forum emigrantesargentinos during the same year, in order to identify, through the narratives of the own emigrants, possible identity positionings within this new matrices of online subjectivity and socialization.
