The authors present the results of the administration of the Rorschach test to suicide attempt survivors. The Rorschach protocols were administered to twenty inpatients - from Ospedale Privato Villa Igea di Modena (Italy) - and analysed according to the criteria proposed by the Scuola Romana Rorschach. The inpatients were tested within one month from the suicidal attempt. Results: The research reveals specific personality traits: i.e. the subjects present a low level of psychoemotional processing, with respect to normal subjects, and a significant deterioration of their global functioning as consequence of the suicidal attempt. Their personality traits are on the average introversive with a high level of internal anxiety, despite the recent acting-out behavior.
