Experiences as a visiting professor brings opportunities to re-frame a personal research track, comparing and taking advantage from a different point of view. The author proposes an experience in which he reviewed his recent reflection about places, landscapes and public spaces of the urban project from the ‘mirror’ of nature. Immerse in sustainability objectives, nature is proposed as a tool and as a source of meaning for urban regeneration, conceived like a main strategy in planning. The broader understanding of existing contributions about relationships between city and nature can teach something relevant as well as the comparison with different sensitivities through this issue in several cultures and planning approaches. Therefore, an abroad experience, supported by a multicultural audience of young planners, accelerates this learning and reflecting process.
