The essay deals whit the enhancement theme in the perspective of labour law. After distin-guishing the therapeutic enhancement from the performative one, and the physical enhance-ment from the cognitive one, the Author tries to identify the limits to the enhancement in the Italian employment law legislation. He argues that the weakness of the workers in the labour market unables a real self-determination about enhancement factors, and can push to use tech-nological and pharmacological enhancers. At the same time, also distinguishes between en-hancement requested by the employer and hidden enhancement, that could be decided autono-mously by the worker to gain an advantage over other workers. About it, the Author notes that the hidden enhancement is able to produces negatively impact on the public and private work-ing relationship, from recruiting to dismissal. The essay ends with some reflections about a legal regulation of the enhancement, that will must be imperative for workers and companies in the workplace.
