Training and education today: role and outlook Technologies development and globalization contribute to characterize the society as a knowledge society. Learning is very important as economic and social complexity requires an acquisition of new information as well as an ability to produce and to develop a new knowledge. Lifelong learning becomes a right to an active citizenship and it is very important for individual and human resources development. Knowledge becomes meta-conoscenza o meta-competenza, a flexible and strategic tool used by men and women in learning to learn in everyday life. Learning concept takes the shape of a metacompetenza, the ability to adapt and orient in a dynamical professional system, and be able to be competitive in the labor market. A further and essential phenomenon having an enormous impact on the training concerns the progressive decline of the traditional training, and the proliferation of new methods, already emerged in the last years. Among these methods those linked to the challenge of the new technologies, Internet and E-learning are the more remarkable. The concepts of knowledge and skills vanish in the implications of the e-learning dynamics; the whole training path is redefined in a complex path, both real and virtual, integrating different nature tools. In this context e-learning is an essential feature of work as well as of e-learning.
