It is on the way back that the traveller sees again the most important stages of his journey and becomes aware of the fact that the destination of his research is the place where he left from. It is only his glance that is changed. Starting from this metaphor, the author briefly analyses the main systemic theories about the change in psychotherapy. In particular, through a clinical example, he suggests some reflections upon the importance of therapeutic relationship, in order to bring about a change. The author dwells upon the latest data of the research carried out in neuroscience field that underline the importance of the emotional syntonization process, of resonance and reflection as for the change, urging to a wider collaboration between psychotherapists and neurobiologists in order to obtain a substantial integration of treatments.
