Psychoanalysis and Indipendent Psychoanalytic Institutes - The author makes a synthesis of some important theoretical-clinical models that have emerged over the last thirty years in North America. We are speaking about self psychology (Kohut), self theory and motivational system theory (Lichtenberg), intersubjective systems theory (Stolorow, Atwood, D. Orange), relational psychoanalysis (Mitchell) and intersubjectivity (Benjamin). The prominent characteristic of these models is to have created indipendent training psychoanalytic institutes. Nebbiosi’s paper is a precious because it offers a completely different viewpoint from the European one that we can appreciate above all from the context of the "Psychoanalytic Geography" that the author presents.
