Is advertising still the soul of trade? - The aim of the paper is to analyze the evolution of advertising, through the different theories applied to understand how advertising work. After a brief introduction, the paper describes the advertising’s evolution from a simple tool used to help the products’ selling, to the actual complex and multiform phenomenon.
