The realization of "main" transport infrastructure often develops within contexts difficult decision, characterized by high levels of conflict between public and private actors. The most common descriptions tend to attribute to the well-known pattern NIMBY (Not In My Backyard). The purpose of the contribution is to reconstruct the network of territorial-political actors and interests involved in decision making for four major transport infrastructure ("Brebemi-TEM" motorway in Milan, Lombardy "Pedemontana", the new transalpine railways "Turin-Lyon" and "Alpine Rail-Link"), showing scales (local-institutional) and forms of legitimacy of the choices.The analysis of the practical wants to bring out different shapes and visions of the "general interest".
