The author aims at illustrating the validity of methodological synergies between Urban Sociology and Visual Sociology to join the collective urban unconscious, integral part of the urban identity. Seeing, communicating, meaning are the aspects of Visual Sociology introducing to the phenomenological depth of the study of the city. They are analyzed through an examination of texts of Visual Sociology, Urban Sociology, but also of Literature, Semiotics and Psychoanalysis in order to reach to the proposal to verify the epistemological hypothesis reached through photos that show spaces and moments of urban life.
