This historical study is dedicated to rebuilding the particular specifications of the cultural and ideological profile of the Italian Nuova Destra by comparison with french Nouvelle Droite, trying to highlight the influences, the legacy and the philosophical, political and doctrinal differences. The author argues that, also in Italy, is possible to clearly identify the existence of a specific Nuova Destra like cultural entity and like movement of thought, and that we can find an immediately apparent ideological identity when we consider that the current has become gradually independent of its traditional political heritage. It’s for this reason that we can study today the Nuova Destra like an independent political category and we can critically analyse its historical evolution. With this in mind, this work put on evidence the genesis and the development of a current of thought that tried to re-think, to revise and to revolutionize the traditional construction of the right-wing political category. In its historical evolution the Nuova Destra movement has tried to construct ideological and philosophic experiments and synthesis attempts of the opposite political categories that we can describe like an innovative form of conservatism or, even better, of conservative revolution. It is also possible to observe the many influences that come from more diverse background and claim that the Nuova Destra movement was able to openly confront with the current problems of human thought.
