There is the problem of the poor, which also affects the rich. The importance of the problem is enormous, but it’s necessary not to be discouraged: «No one could solve it in private; by combining their own efforts, everyone can do it». In Blanc’s opinion it’s indispensable to begin with the organization of work. Everyone has the right to live with the work, regulated and guaranteed. To organize work in society means to suppress misery. The misery produces dependence, sufferings, crimes. Nowadays the privileged classes lost their sensibility; they found in luxury unusual refinements, they have no other religion that pleasure. To want the poor to have «the certainty of having a job, the daily bread, a home, clothes, the opportunity to love and hope» does not mean surrender to materialism, but recognize that there is a social issue that can’t be postponed again and that politics must be able to solve. It’s necessary a social revolution: 1) because the present social order is too full of iniquity and can’t hold out for long, 2) because all people are interested in it, 3) because this revolution is possible and can be accomplished in a peaceful manner. These words have an extraordinary relevance to the present day! The autor says: «In the new world in which the revolution would let us go in, maybe something should done for the complete realization of the principle of fraternity». And the way would be definitively drawn.
