Inequalities in the educational process and in school-to-work transition of young people in the district of Bologna. The paper is based on programme of research to support the policy making process to prevent non-attendance school and to improve school-to-work transition. It starts analyzing the relationship between social inequalities and educational and training inequalities and then between school-to-work transition of young people, in the district of Bologna. The paper finally suggests the need of welfare policies that integrate devices for training and working with social protection policies and the fight to social inequalities.
