The study of one of the most striking clinical texts written by Heinz Kohut, "The two analyses of Mr Z", provides an opportunity to address some crucial issues on the epistemological basis of psychoanalysis. Kohut’s manuscript presents a final twist, misleading in appearance, but in reality profound.
