From body to soul: the rebirth of self-esteem in wounded women. Life can be tough in many ways and women are often the ones who carry the burden. The article describes the program that helps go through the process of rebuilding self-esteem using the metaphor of the body. Milton Erickson said that everybody has all the resources required to cope with any event. The authors taught a group of women how to cope with stressors in a field far away from everyday life (hiking alone up a mountain) and then led them, with the use of hypnosis, to realize that all problematic events are just a way to see life from a different point of view. The outcome was a new perception of themselves and the discovery of a resilience they didn’t expect to have.
