This paper describes the work of Tavistock Relationships from its inception in 1948 to the current day. It explores the organisation’s theoretical development and its wide psychoanalytic influences. It discusses briefly the technical aspects of couple psychoanalysis as developed in the UK with reference to new developments using mentalization based therapeutic techniques.
