The Author examines the problems pertaining to the considerable nosographic indefiniteness of the schizophrenic area. He suggests the possible existence of so- called "white psychoses", with few or no psychotic symptoms, but with underlying deep levels, organizations or structures of this kind which may emerge under stress or during psychoanalytic treatment; a process that - paradoxically - is manifested through a worsening of symptoms. The Author then examines some consequences of this phenomenon in the relationship and in the psychoanalytic treatment.
