This essay analyzes the circulation of political models and languages between Sicily and Europe. Through the observation point of the libraries of the protagonists of the island scene, it has been possible to reconstruct the timing and mode of reception of international publications and their dissemination by the local elites. It is thus restored the profile of a dynamic Sicily, at the center of a Mediterranean network of words and paper: all this allows the creation of modern public opinion and the development of a lively international debate, a sounding board for the aspirations of the local elite.
