The contribution presents a reflection about a research carried out in a Centre of Mental Health (CSM). It is about concerning a conduction experience of a short-term psychotherapeutic group based on the Group Analytic theory. To this aim we monitor, through the use of both psychometric and non- psychometric tools, the group processes evolution in the different stages and the real effectiveness of the treatment. In order to evaluate the process we used: the clinical material, the Alhin Matrix Representation Grid (M.R.G.), the GrETha-Q Questionnaire and the Group Climate Questionnaire. A pre and post evaluation of SCL-90-R and the "Carta di Rete" (Web Chart) and follow-up sessions have been underwent to evaluate the outcome. From the analysis conducted seems that the selected instruments could represent a quite sensitive evaluation system. Moreover, they could be consider easy to administrate not only in scientific research setting but also in the Public Service, permitting to use the clinical practice as a "natural laboratory". Specific attention has been paid to "Carta di Rete" as a possible bridge between clinic and evaluation. The short-term group analytic psychotherapy is confirmed as an effective and cheap technical device for patients treatment.
