This paper discusses the Life Line, a Gestalt technique that allows the collection and sorting of all of the significant moments in the life of the patient, especially in adolescence. The theoretical basis of this technique is the concept of lived-time, the theory of self, the polyphonic development of domains and the concept of psychopathological field, which are briefly discussed. Some examples of how the Life Line can be used in working with adolescents are finally presented.
Keywords: Life line, linear time, cyclic time, domains, psychopathological field.
