Starting from the considerations of Mario Mirri on historicism and the study of the history of philosophy in high schools in the fascist era as a type of training that acted as a boomerang against the regime and its ideology, the essay recalls the philosophical themes of historicism in the 60s and 70s as a crucial moment in the history of social and political movements, with particular reference to Badaloni’s Marxism and Momigliano’s history of historiography.
