A survey on the economy of Ancient Italy (5th -1st centuries BCE), which only considers French historiography and ignore recent debates and new perspectives on the subject. It aims to present, in a plain and comprehensible form, the main features of Roman economy under the Republic, but misses its purpose: the coverage of key features is uneven, and the book only offers a very limited presentation of the most relevant problems that concern Roman economy.
