Two rulings, one of the High Court of Justice, the other of the Court of Appeal, define in a short month the dispute between Monarch Airlines - just placed in administration because of its insolvency - and the Coordinating Authority of the English airports on the allocation of slots for the 2018 summer season in application of EEC Regulation no. 95/93 (so called "Slot Regulation"). If the High Court denies Monarch’s right to be assigned the slots, precisely because of the economic situation in which it pays and despite the observance of the so-called "grandfather rule", the Court of Appeal overturns the decision, recognizing the right of the company instead.
