The EU tourism policy within European Treaties is always been residual and minimal as Member States didn’t want to surrender sovereignty until Lisbon Treaty. And beyond. For this reason we can say that we did not have so far a real EU tourism policy. But, due to its structure, the entire tourism sector has also benefited from other EU policies. Same way happened during COVID-19 pandemic.
