The article focuses on Collaborative Law or Practice as the main alternative resolution method for family disputes. Collaborative professionals are not only lawyers, but also accountants, family mediators, psychologists who are committed to offering citizens a non-contentious, confidential and respectful approach to the dignity of the subjects involved for the management of issues relating to their separation and/or divorce, custody of children, the revision of agreements and other matters of family law, using the "Collaborative Law" (also defined Method). In addition to the deflationary outcome of the dispute, the collaborative method also presents aspects of undoubted social utility. The article, after a description of the history of Collaborative Law, presents the principles and procedures that guide the professionals who adhere to its practice.
