During the lockdown, in Italy, food has initially become a source of worry, in the beginning just for its possible link to a contagion and later on for the availability of supplies, but it has also been a relevant element to work on the reconstruction of meaning in relation to daily practices and the need of sociability. This paper re-flects on the meaning of bread-making at home, on the necessity and effects of the renegotiation of rules regarding communal eating on digital platforms, and on the role that solidarity plays as symbolic reparation for the community.
