Starting from a digression on the conceivable origin of the word hate, especially in the ancient Greek mythology, the author reflects upon hate as a potential dividing instance, as an extrema ratio to oppose the denial of individual differences which often oppresses families dominated by an undifferentiated and incestual atmosphere.
Keywords: Hate; incestuality; ambivalence; greek mythology; differentiation; belonging.
