This article focuses on the exclusionary policies implemented by local governments in Montecchio Maggiore, a town of about 24,000 residents in Province of Vicenza 20% of which is migrant, also because of the village of Alte Ceccato, where migrant residents account for about a third of its 6,804 inhabitants and more than 50% of these is Bangladeshi. These policies have focused particularly on the housing dimension, prompting migrants to organize social mobilizations through their associations, in consultation with the native one and the trade unions. These policies, however, have also triggered a series of conflicts at various levels: between the local government and the opposition political forces; between the different Bangladeshi associations.

Keywords: Local law; Discriminatory policies; Migrant associations, Bangladeshi diaspora, Italian North-East, Trade union.
